A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information — such as a website URL, WiFi credentials, or contact details — that any smartphone camera can instantly read and act on. They appear on restaurant menus, business cards, product packaging, event badges, and anywhere fast digital access is needed from the physical world.
QuickITTools supports 9 QR code types: URL (any web address), Plain Text, WiFi (SSID, password, and security type), Email (with pre-filled subject and body), SMS (phone number and message), vCard (full digital contact card), Phone number, WhatsApp (pre-filled message), and Geo Location (GPS coordinates). All types are free, require no login, and generate entirely in your browser.
Error correction determines how much of a QR code can be damaged or obscured before it stops scanning. L (7%) — ideal for clean digital screens. M (15%) — the standard for most printed materials. Q (25%) — recommended when you are using a custom color or the background has patterns. H (30%) — best for outdoor signage, product packaging, or anywhere the code may get worn or dirty. Higher error correction produces a slightly denser pattern.
PNG is a pixel-based image — perfect for websites, emails, presentations, and digital screens. SVG is a vector format that scales to any size without ever becoming blurry or pixelated — essential for professional printing on business cards, flyers, banners, and product packaging. Always use SVG when sending files to a printer or placing codes on physical materials larger than a few inches.
No. All QR code generation happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your URLs, WiFi passwords, contact details, phone numbers, and any other input are never transmitted to any server, never stored, and never logged. Everything processes locally on your device. You can even use this tool offline once the page has loaded.
No. All QR codes generated here are static codes — the destination data is encoded directly and permanently into the QR pattern itself. They never expire and have no scan limits. The code will continue to work as long as the destination (for example, a website URL) remains active. This also means you cannot edit the destination after generating the code — if you need to update it, simply generate a new code.
